Finding an Agent: Step 1: The Query

Your project is edited and you want to sign an agent… You are ready to start querying your manuscript. That’s so exciting! But what exactly is a query? What do you include in it? How do you even figure out who to query? If you make a mistake, will you be on some publishing blacklist forever? (The answer to that last one is: absolutely not). There’s a lot of information online and it can be confusing. This seminar with New York Agent, Amy Giuffrida will teach you all of the querying basics and give you some tools to help navigate this challenging process. Bring questions!

If time allows, students may be able to send Amy a sample query for critique after all your questions are answered.

Please note: This class or event will be held online (using Zoom or a similar live platform). To participate, students or attendees should have a stable internet connection. Class participants: you should have a computer or device with a webcam and microphone; and your Zoom link will be automatically sent to you after you register. Check your spam box if you don't see it.
