Dialogue for the Screen

For generations, audiences connect with and quote unforgettable lines of dialogue they hear on the screen. This goal of this workshop is to help you discover the language of your characters that is poetic, rhythmic, energetic, and that creates drama and tension. You will learn about pacing and how to make dialogue more natural in screenplays. You will come out of this workshop understanding what “economy” means in dialogue. More importantly, you will learn about writing dialogue that is specific and unique to each character in order for each voice to be distinct.

Please note: This class or event will be held online (using Zoom or a similar live platform). To participate, students or attendees should have a stable internet connection.
