Developing a Creative Mission

For writers and storytellers, a creative mission for our work is a guiding North Star through years of writing, revision, rejection and the continued flexing of our creative muscles. Having a creative mission for our work can be crucial to our longevity as writers. This class will use diary entries, artistic statements and other non-fiction writing from established and celebrated published writers to help participants identify and strengthen the guiding principles and purpose for their creative work and answer why we tell the stories we do how we tell them. We will complete creative mission statements to use as compasses for our creative work going forward.

The MuseTeacher: Coleen Herbert
