Creative Writing Exploration for Middle School Youth
Creative Writing for Middle School Youth (ages 11 to younger 14-year-olds) explores the fundamentals of creative writing and encourages each student to find their individual writing voice, no matter the genre (poetry, fiction, comics, songwriting, and screenwriting). Students will explore their creative expression through unique prompts, exercises, in-class writing, and opportunities to share and discuss their work. Popular tops include Slaying the Villain, Where a Story Starts, songwriting, Duo Poetry, and more! The final class culminates in a live reading which friends and family are invited to attend. The final class in in the afternoon on November 16 from 1-3 PM. Because The Muse wants our classes to be accessible to all, our youth classes are “pay what you can”, meaning you name the price you can afford, as high or low as it may be, no questions asked.

This class is offered free to middle school youth. This class would normally cost $250. When you register, you are welcome to donate any amount toward this class to defray our costs which include paying our teachers. In the box under “Enter the Amount,” you may enter any amount to make a donation or enter zero to take the class for free. Thank you!

All students under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian in order to participate. At check out a parent or legal guardian will be required to complete our Conduct, Waiver and Release Agreements. You can review these agreements here.
