Building Your Cabinet of Curiosities: Exercises to Cultivate and Generate Ideas
In Renaissance Europe, a wunderkammer, or cabinet of curiosity or wonder chamber, was a collection of objects both rare and curious, both naturally occurring and human-made. In this seminar, we will write through various exercises and prompts that refresh our senses of wonder and attention to the world, to ourselves, and to the importance of individual words. We will cultivate our own figurative cabinets of curiosities from which we, as writers, can pull ideas for new and revised work.
