Animal Encounters
I love reading and writing poems about human-animal interactions because they help me become a more attentive witness of the world around me—whether I am visiting a national park or standing in my backyard. Animal encounter poems work well for writers of all experience levels because they have a clear narrative and some deep-but-accessible Big Ideas (nature and civilization, self and other) baked in. This generative workshop will have plenty of time for writing and sharing your own poems.
