FAQs

1. What is the 48 Hour Play Festival?
It is a 2-day project of writing, rehearsing, and then performing a short play with a theme we will release soon. Gather some folks beforehand, register your team, and show up on Friday, April 8th, to receive one prop, one line, and one character to start developing your play.

2. Where is it?
Little Theatre of Norfolk will provide the space at 801 Claremont Ave. for teams to use for brainstorming, rehearsals, and performances.

3. When is it?
Friday, April 8th-10th. Teams will meet at 6:45PM at the theatre for a introductory meeting and to receive the three items they must include in their short plays. Performances will be held on Sunday, April 10th at 7PM. Registration deadline is April 2nd.

3. How many people can be on a team?
A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8. We welcome folks to register as a free agent if they do not have a team. Those free agents will then be assigned to an established team. We want everyone to have the chance to participate!

4. Is it a contest with prizes?
No, but we hope this becomes an annual event and encourages our community with creativity.

In collaboration with Norfolk Arts Commision, The Muse Writers Center, and the Norfolk Playwrights Collective.
